Justice for people, not profits

OysterClaim is built to return class action value to the people it belongs to—without taking a middleman’s cut of the check and without turning your claim history into a data product. Open source on GitHub, local-first by design, and free to use for core filing.

    Quick answer

    Open-source utility, not a black-box lead farm.
    Zero-commission: we don’t take a % of your settlement.
Local vault: sensitive claim data stays on your device.
Sustained by optional contributions, not a cut of your payout—filing is free.

What is OysterClaim and why is it free?

OysterClaim is an open-source utility for discovering and filing class action claims. Donations are optional and do not gate filing. The goal is the automation of a professional filer with the privacy posture of a local tool: your vault on your device, official forms in the app, and a $0 commission on the settlement.

You should not have to pay a large contingency fee to a middleman or trade your privacy to a data broker just to get what you are already owed. That is the bet behind the mission.

The three pillars of the Oyster mission

This is the disruption we care about: verifiable product behavior, user-owned data, and a funding model that does not depend on reselling the user.

    1. Transparency (open source)

Many legal-adjacent apps are black boxes. Oyster’s code is public on GitHub so researchers, professionals, and users can see how the local-only model is implemented and how claim data is meant to stay on your device.

    Open GitHub

    2. Autonomy (zero knowledge)

The architecture is designed so your Secrets Vault and discovery outputs stay on your phone instead of a centralized claim cloud. You are the user of the tool, not the inventory for a data business.

    3. Accessibility (open first)

Justice at scale should not be locked behind a predatory paywall. Where competitors lean on subscriptions or contingency models, Oyster is open source and free for core filing. We partner with law firms to bring you the best possible experience.

    The "Wikipedia" model

    Why a public utility?

Billions in class action and mass-settlement value move through the system every year, yet most eligible people still never file—often because the process is slow, scattered, and built for institutions, not individuals. We built Oyster to be the "Wikipedia of class actions" in spirit: a free, community-driven resource that simplifies the complex, automates the repetitive, and nudges the outcome toward people actually getting paid.

    Founder note

We didn't build Oyster to make a billion dollars. We built it because we were tired of seeing billion-dollar corporations keep money that belonged to the people just because the paperwork was too hard. Oyster is your tool. Your data. Your money.

Set it and forget it. Automated. Private. Free.
